Nope. 3000 means that it is actualy 20 metres. Check out the suit's stats via show info on the dropsuit. I'm guessing it's a medium suit you're wearing.

Another theory is that it's the squad chat voice activated that's causing the problem. We had a significant number of successful full squad deployments when we had our voices activated over in some other channel.
